WHO ARE WE?

Voyageur Hockey was founded in 2015 by Christian de Lanauze. Mr. de Lanauze had previously been the founder, part owner, President and Hockey Director of PuckMasters Glenview, which then changed the name to PuckPros Glenview.

Voyageur Hockey Company is the off-shoot of the previous company’s years of experience to effectively train and teach players in a 1-on-1, small, or large group setting. In doing 19,000 and overseeing tens upon tens of thousands of lessons, Voyageur Hockey has the know-how and experience to design a progression of specific drills that rapidly accelerates a player(s) skill sets.

Voyageur Hockey’s specialty is the ability to effectively communicate the varying techniques of the Cornerstones biomechanics – anatomically, to an individual for them to improve their athletic ability within the framework of playing hockey. With extensive teaching experience, it is of vital importance that the student receives the knowledge as to why certain breakdowns or successes occur in all Cornerstones.

Ten years of teaching hockey combined with tens of thousands of lessons has provided Voyageur Hockey with the means to create an advanced teaching milieu within a unique curriculum to develop accelerated teaching techniques. Therefore, Voyageur has a system of training players that act as the bridge of an athlete to use his/her athleticism to become a hockey player. As a part of the system, a key is to be able to adjust to an individual or small group need/challenges to accelerate skill sets versus the practice and repetition of improper skill sets.

Skills and Drills is not always the most effective means to teaching a player the correct techniques. Simply, a student that continues to execute improper skill(s) technique(s) will continue to do so for years to come. However, if the drills are specifically designed within a sequence of drills that build(s) the biomechanics of particular skill set(s) then the student will have far greater success and more fun playing hockey.

What Sets Us Apart?

Voyageur is NOT a conditioning clinic… Voyageur Hockey is not your typical hockey training company which bases their teaching philosophy on “skills and drills”; or, keeping the players moving. Reason being- knowledge and education of all skill sets through varying teaching strategies for highly-effective learning. Therefore, Voyageur has the unique ability to create an environment for accelerated learning.

Specifically designed drills that promote skill development that is the antithesis to “Conditioning” Clinics. In this day and age, there is so much information “out there” on how to teach, what to teach, and skills designs, that anyone could design a skills practice, and keep players moving. Which, in turn, is what the ‘uneducated eye’ wants to see. With that said, how are certain skills taught within a specific means to an end? In other words, how do set designs teach proper technique in, either, strengthening strengths or eliminating weaknesses?

Students that have worked with Voyageur learn how to become students and teachers of their own athletic ability by virtue of being given the knowledge to assess themselves when playing hockey. Within any subject matter, a good teacher teaches the student how to teach him or herself. Therefore, a student’s success is based upon their ability to develop their craft with the knowledge of how to improve their ability via knowledge gained.

Our Mission

To be the leaders in the industry to rapidly accelerate one’s skill sets for greater creativity… To re-ignite the flame that the hockey player first felt from earliest of memories turning that passion into a raging fire… To pass the torch from past generations, held by the present generation, to future generations… To increase the overall understanding and passion for the sport of hockey within a cultural aspect to nurture and develop future leaders in society in whatever professional arena chosen… To increase the magnitude at which hockey can influence the individual’s experience in life as the foundation for building and creating a better more responsible member of society… To capture the essence of playing hockey… The flame that ignites the torch must be protected, sewn, and nurtured for it to be responsibly passed on to the future generation.
